YOUR COMMUNITY INVESTMENT
 

Here are just a few examples of where your United Way donation is going, and the impact you are making on our community. Last year:

  • The Holden and Warrensburg Senior Centers continue to provide multiple vital services to the elders to assure their ability to live out their lives with maximum independence and dignity in their own homes and communities;
  • the University of Missouri Health Care provided 652 Johnson County residents with care last year at a cost of $1,169.52 per person; 
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters, matched 622 kids with Bigs, helping to give them self-confidence and a positive role model;
  • Homemaker Health Care provided 62 individuals with on-going health care assistance; 
  • Salvation Army paid out $22,178 in assistance to 1,258 individuals; 
  • Johnson County Homelessness Eliminated through Loving People  (HELP) has assisted 627 people last year find housing as well as assistance in many other ways;
  • 5,478 first-time contacts with Children's Mercy for medical care;
  • Johnson County Adult Literacy assisting 60 individuals with assistance in math and/or reading guidance;
  • Almost 15,000 indiiduals or families being provided with necessary food to sustain them from the Food Center;
  • Hope Coalition providing 17,361 cases of assistance through either food, GED training, sports activities, etc.;
  • American Red Cross receiving 626 calls for assistance through fires, medical needs, training and blood services;
  • Pathway Behavioral Community HealthCare assisting 1,871 cases;
  • 11,702 individuals seeking assistance from Catholic Charities;
  • with hundreds  of youth and adults using the scouting and recreation agencies, and
  • the list goes on and on!
