Unless noted, United Way withholdings are not sent directly to the Johnson County United Way where local agencies receive the most benefit. Due to technicalities with some of the donor programs we work with, i.e., Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and Missouri State Employee’s Charitable Campaign (MSECC), some of our agencies have been unable to appear on their listings. If you donate through one of these donor programs and want your money to go to agencies that are unlisted but are a part of our campaign, we ask you to do the following:
Designate your donation to the Johnson County United Way. The dollars you designate will then reach us. THEN, send us a copy of your donor card showing your designation to our agency and a note explaining exactly how you want your funds distributed. We will then ensure that the agencies within our federation receive the funds you have designated to the Johnson County United Way. We DO NOT charge any fee to our agencies to distribute the funds designated to them. Our operating and fund-raising costs are covered by our fund-raising activities, i.e., the Celebrity Waiter dinner or the Chili Cook-off as well as in-kind donations and interest. These funds enable us to provide our agencies will all funds that have been donated to them.
