Online Donation Processing Guide

United Way of America Online Donation Processing Service

New this year is the United Way of America online donation processing service which allows donors to make secure online donations with their credit cards, and checks.  Each donor has the choice of donating to their own local chapters, another local chapter, the National chapter, or any other special funds designated by the United Way of America.  If you do not specify a benefactor, the service automatically designates the funds to the local chapter based on the donor’s zip code.  (Please note, Knob Noster zip code will result in donated funds going to the Pettis County United Way. Insure you designate to whom you want your pledge to be paid when entering your data.)

This service is available online at http://national.unitedway.org/givenow.cfm?localCode=27550  and is provided by United Way.  If you will click on this link, you will be sent to the donation service pages.  This a a secure site, indicated by the small lock at the bottom of your screen.  Funds received will initially be withdrawn into the UWA’s bank account and will be disbursed to our chapter’s bank account periodically once they are clear.  Credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  Once your information is accepted, the data entered is displayed.  Review the information, verify it is correct, then click on “Submit.”  The receipt shows the transaction ID that can be referenced if there are any future inquiries about the donation.  The transaction descriptor will show on your credit card statement.  If donating from your bank account, you will need the bank routing number and the bank account number (both located on a check).

There is a fee for this service, charged to the United Way of 2.2% + 28 cents for each transaction.
